Hermès colours

This guide lists the Hermès colours we have recorded in the official online store, with how often each one appears and when it was last seen. Seven colours have their own page: Étoupe, Gold, Noir, Craie, Rouge H, Nata and Gris Pantin, each with the bags listed in that colour.

How Hermès colours work online

Every Hermès product page names the colour of the item, usually with a French word such as Noir, Craie or Étoupe. The same name is used across different lines, so an Evelyne and a Picotin Lock listed in Gold share a colour, even if the leathers differ.

Colour matters when you shop online because each colour of a model is a separate listing. A restock of the Picotin Lock 18 might include Étoupe and Noir but not Craie, and the online store only sells the colours listed at that moment. Knowing which colours actually appear, and how often, helps you judge whether to wait for a specific shade or stay open to a close alternative.

How to read this

The figures come from our own monitoring of hermes.com, not from Hermès. One appearance is one model size seen online within one hour in that colour. If a size is listed in three colours in the same hour, each of the three colours counts one appearance, so the totals for colours add up to more than the totals for models.

Last seen online is the most recent time we recorded any model in that colour. A colour with few appearances is not necessarily rare in boutiques; it only means it has been listed online less often. The figures change as new appearances are recorded, so the order of the table can shift from week to week.

The colour guides

Noir, Gold and Étoupe cover black, a warm tan brown and a grey-brown taupe. Craie and Nata are the pale colours, a chalky off-white and a warmer cream. Gris Pantin is a medium grey, and Rouge H is a deep red with a brown cast. Each guide shows an approximate swatch, explains how the colour compares with its neighbours and lists the models it appeared on.
