What is the Hermès Jypsière
The Jypsière is a flap-front messenger bag. Hermès describes both sizes with the same key detail, a flap closure with rotating hardware, and both are made to be worn over the shoulder or across the body rather than carried by hand. There are no top handles, so the strap does all the work.
The two sizes are built for different jobs. The mini is a slim bag, only 5.3 cm deep, sold in Evercolor or Swift calfskin and in a Toile & Cuir version that pairs H canvas with Swift. The 28 is a proper day bag in taurillon Clemence, with a zipped interior front pocket, a back interior pocket with a gusset, a pocket for a phone and a strap with a shoulder pad. Hermès lists three hardware finishes for the line: palladium plated, Permabrass and yellow gold plated.

Jypsière mini
The Jypsière mini measures 22 × 14.8 × 5.3 cm, and its strap with snap hook adjusts from 64 to 106 cm, long enough to wear it across the body. The Toile & Cuir version has the same measurements. The strap depends on the version: plain Wooly canvas, leather, or a strap with a buckle on the Toile & Cuir. Because it is so shallow, it takes flat things well: a phone, a card case, keys. Almost every Jypsière we have recorded online was a mini, and it is also the size with the long list of confirmed colours below.
Jypsière 28
The Jypsière 28 measures 28 × 22 × 11 cm, with a strap that adjusts from 95 to 110 cm. Next to the mini it is 6 cm wider, 7.2 cm taller and 5.7 cm deeper, which turns it from a slim bag into one that holds a wallet, a sunglasses case and a small pouch. On hermes.com it is listed in taurillon Clemence, and Gold is the only colour we could confirm for it. It appears online far less often than the mini.

The Toile & Cuir mini is the entry point at £6,320, the Evercolor mini costs £6,560 and the Swift mini £6,710. The Jypsière 28 in Clemence is £7,880, so moving up a size adds £1,170 over the Swift mini. France is the only other store where we confirmed a price: €6,850 for the Swift mini. Jypsière leathers and colours

What you need is speed: restocks are not announced, and a listing can disappear shortly after it goes live. If you are open to the mini, your chances are much better than if you only want the 28, which we have seen online only rarely.

There is no official rule about who is offered which bag; buyers commonly report that availability varies widely between stores and visits, and stock in a boutique is separate from the online store.
