Dimensions and what fits
Despite the name, Hermès lists the Evelyne III 29 as 28 cm long, 28 cm high and 9.5 cm deep, so the body is square. The strap measures 94–138 cm with snap hook, a range that lets you wear the bag on the shoulder or across the body.
At 9.5 cm deep, the 29 is the first Evelyne that takes bulky items. A full-size wallet, a glasses case, a phone and keys fit together, and a paperback or a small folding umbrella can go in alongside. A 13-inch laptop will not, as it is wider than 28 cm.

Evelyne 29 prices
Two versions of the 29 were listed. Taurillon Clemence costs £2,990 in the UK, €3,050 in France and ¥641,300 in Japan, and it is the only Evelyne for which we found a Japanese price. The version in H canvas with Clemence costs £3,100 in the UK, £110 more; we did not find a French price for it.

Evelyne 29 or 23?
Stepping down to the 23 saves £100 in the UK and €100 in France, and costs 5 cm of width, 4 cm of height and, most importantly, 3.5 cm of depth. If a wallet and a glasses case are part of your daily load, the 29 is the Evelyne to choose.
The 23 has practical advantages of its own. It appears in the online store more often than the 29 and was listed in twice as many colours. Pick the 29 if capacity comes first, and the 23 if you want a better chance of catching one particular colour.
Above the 29 sits the Evelyne 33. It appears online far less often than the 29, and we have no Hermès dimensions or price for it yet.
